Founder's Note
The Strategic Security Initiative (SSI) was founded on a simple but consequential observation drawn from professional experience in government and the broader security field: much of the most substantive work in international security is carried out by professionals whose expertise remains underrecognized within formal institutional hierarchies.
Across policy, diplomacy, and analytical roles, many individuals assume significant responsibility for research, assessment, and operational output, yet their contributions are often not reflected in senior titles or long-term visibility, particularly once they leave institutional environments. As a result, valuable expertise risks being lost or excluded from broader policy debates.
SSI was established to address this gap. The Initiative seeks to create a platform where experience, analytical rigor, and practical insight are given appropriate visibility and can contribute meaningfully to international security discussions. By connecting underrepresented expertise with policy discourse, SSI aims to strengthen the quality, inclusiveness, and relevance of analysis in an increasingly complex global security environment.

Our Mission
The Strategic Security Initiative (SSI) is committed to advancing rigorous, policy-relevant analysis on international security in an increasingly complex and contested global environment. The Initiative seeks to generate high-quality research that informs decision-making across geopolitical, technological, and strategic domains.
At its core, SSI is driven by the recognition that valuable expertise in international security often resides beyond formal leadership structures. Many professionals contribute substantially to analysis, policy development, and operational outcomes, yet their perspectives remain insufficiently reflected in broader strategic debates. SSI aims to address this gap by elevating such expertise and ensuring it contributes meaningfully to policy discourse.
Through independent research, expert engagement, and strategic dialogue, SSI works to bridge the divide between experience and influence, strengthening the quality, relevance, and inclusiveness of international security analysis.
