Irina Mamulashvili is Head of the International Security Program at SSI. Her work focuses on international security dynamics, with an emphasis on conflict, intelligence, foreign interference, and evolving state and hybrid threats.
She previously worked at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), where she managed projects on Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, sanctions, sabotage, elections, EU security, and disinformation. As part of this work, she conducted research and analysis and convened workshops with public and private sector representatives, media, civil society, and academia worldwide.
Before that, Irina was a Programme Manager and a Researcher at the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED). She has also worked at the European Parliament, supporting an MEP on issues related to the war in Ukraine, EU assistance, and candidate status processes for Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. At the UK House of Commons, she conducted research on mechanisms for confiscating Russian assets to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Irina advises a range of stakeholders and contributes to international conferences, as well as international media commentary.
Irina was awarded a Chevening Scholarship and holds an MA in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from City, University of London.
