Sydney Sheinfeld is an International Security Fellow at the Strategic Security Initiative (SSI). She is a Joint Honours Master of Arts candidate at the University of Glasgow, pursuing degrees in International Relations and Central and East European Studies. As part of her degree, Sydney has conducted analysis on maritime trade patterns to the Far East and the strategic role of Russia’s natural resource dominance in diplomatic negotiation.
Her current research focuses on the extents to which psychology of Soviet ideology and Soviet legacy inform post‑Soviet diplomatic and defence strategies.
Prior to attending the University of Glasgow, Sydney spent six years with the United States Air Force Auxiliary where she developed insights on NATO’s contemporary aerial defence strategies, military supply‑chain logistics, and emerging patterns of securitization.
