Tamar Shengelia is a Cyber and Emerging Technologies Fellow at the Strategic Security Initiative. She is pursuing a Master's degree in International Security Studies at Charles University in Prague, concentrating on Security, Technology and Society. Her academic work spans the strategic implications of artificial intelligence and the evolving relationship between emerging technologies and the security environment.


Her current research examines how AI-backed systems are transforming military decision-making, algorithmic warfare, and the privatization of security.


Prior to beginning her Master's degree, Tamar completed a Bachelor's in International Relations at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and interned at the United States Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia where she supported the Public Diplomacy section.
