Nicholas Chkhaidze is a Fellow of the Hybrid Threats and Resilience Program at the Strategic Security Initiative (SSI). He is a national security and strategic communications analyst specializing in Russian hybrid warfare, influence operations, foreign and security policy, sanctions evasion, and South Caucasus and Eurasian security dynamics. He previously served with NATO's Public Diplomacy Division in Georgia, the Henry Jackson Society's Russia and Eurasia Studies Centre in London, and the Topchubashov Center in Baku as a Research Fellow. As an analyst, he examines Russia's information warfare and historical revisionism, paramilitary and proxy operations in Ukraine, religious soft power, the financial and energy architecture authoritarian regimes use to evade Western sanctions, and approaches to resilience against hybrid threats in the South Caucasus. His work contributes to policy debates on these issues through publications, media commentary, and expert analysis. His work has been featured in The National Interest, the Atlantic Council, Fox News, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats, the Jamestown Foundation, France 24, The Times, E-International Relations, The Kyiv Independent, Euromaidan Press, Kyiv Post, and New Eastern Europe, with one Atlantic Council article cited in the U.S. National Defense University's Strategic Assessment 2025.
